As part of the culinary event "Une place à table", the Abbé Pierre Foundation launched "Tartes Postales” — an initiative blending cooking with collective reflection. Alongside other artists, designers, and cooks, we worked with community housing residents and day centers to create tartes postales: edible symbols to be shared, representing places that brought participants together.
We rolled up our sleeves — crafting salt molds, weaving leek ribbons, confiting mirabelle plums... until we all gathered at the closing festival in Autrans in 2023, for a joyful banquet that brought together 400 guests around locally sourced dishes, prepared collectively.
The aims of the initiative are clear: to place individuals at the heart of food systems, to help shift habits, to respect diverse food cultures, to create spaces of conviviality and exchange, to support access to healthy and sustainable food, to encourage self-production, and to foster food autonomy.
