Naomi Feigelson

    Soft Shells & Ice Cream Collection is an edible performance, activated within a participatory installation. Once the tide has receded, a dune of sand, seashells, and coral ruins reveal a fleeting collection of ice creams. Nestled between a salty shell and a frozen casing, these mollusk-ice-creams appear only to vanish.

The audience composed this performance, animating the landscape through three living tableaux: dried on mother-of-pearl, infused into ice, and fossilized in sand. This interactive installation immerses us in a collection of remnants — and in the gestures required to preserve them.
